DFW Home Sales 14% Higher In September From 2010, But Lower From 2009: Dallas Real Estate News

Published October 13, 2011 by Candy Evans

Spent a beautiful morning with the good folks down at Keller Williams Urban on Turtle Creek. As usual, we talked about great homes and inventory: there are significantly fewer homes to sell in Dallas. Inventory is down by 50% in some areas. Of course, the latest is that D/FW home sales came out significantly higher in September 2011 over 2010, but the head scratcher is that they were still lower than 2009.

Kidding. We know 2009 was artificially pumped up, kind of like a breast implant, due to the first-time home buyer’s credit. It was interesting to hear the agents tell me what the market is REALLY like out there: tough. The condo sales on Turtle Creek are slow going. East Dallas doing very well — Kessler on fire. Agent Keith Cox (who seemed to walk off with a boatload of awards) said folks are buying in Kessler to take advantage of a great new elementary school on every parents’ radar: Rosemont Elementary.

And as always, I walked home with a pocket full of House Porn Candy.
