Remember when I told you all last month that, at the suggestion of his agent Allie Beth Allman, Troy decided to sell off the full acre lot next to his Highland Drive home? Then I told you someone was hovering? Well, Alan Peppard is reporting that the lot sold and closed this week.
To be clear, Troy’s gorgeous home is still on the market listed for $14 million,
as I told you. He reduced the price on the property when he decided to sell the lot separately. Prior to the dissection, he was asking $24 million for both the house and lot which leads us to think he may have just deposited about $10 million in a bank account this week. The lot is appraised by DCAD at $5.493
, not $7.319. (Alan Peppard had this number, but maybe he’s right and this is the re-assessment?) He likely also paid off the $5 million mortgage he took out when he bought the dirt in 2009.
Bear with me, I’m posting on my iPad whilst the bleach invades my brain cells. I’ll have the price and buyer for you shortly.
Update: Joanna England I love you!
Update, all blonde now: 4425 Highland Drive is listed for $14,000,000. 4419 Highland Drive was listed for $11, 500,000. The only thing in MLS on it shows that it sold in 8/15/2003 for $4 million from an original listing price of $5,295,000. Ellen Terry was the buyer’s agent for the Potashniks, Madeleine Jobst was selling agent. Flash forward to 2008: Troy Aikman had been courting the house next door since January of 2008. Troy brought over an offer right before Thanksgiving, gobble gobble, reaching a deal with owners Brian and Cheryl Potashnik in December 2008. Troy’s agent was Allie Beth Allman. Word on the street was that Troy planned to tear down the house and annex it to enlarge his estate, which he did, building that pool and guest house. He paid at least $5 million for a place where he wanted to throw the ball with his kids, and swim.
Now Troy and Alan Peppard, I hate to be picky because I make mistakes all the time, but the lot is .94 an acre.
Here’s what the graphic said in 2003:
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC ENGLISH COUNTRY HOUSE COMPLETELY REMODELED IN 2000. UTMOST QUALITY & ATT TO DETAIL-TO MANY FEATURES TO LIST.DWN MSTBDRM W/STDY, WALNUT PAN,GST RM,BEAM CEIL IN FAM RM,WINE CELL,3 CAR GAR W/GST QTRS.CABANA W/2 BTHS,BLUE TILED POOL W/HEAT & A/C. SO-SO-BEAUTIFUL. ALMOST AN ACRE.
I’m going to take a guess here: the lot sold for $8 million. Maybe $9 million. What’s your guess?
