If Jason Terry Signs on With the Celtics, Does That Mean He’ll Have at Least Two Homes on the Market?

Would these sports guys please just calm down, it’s a mid-week holiday for God’s sake. Now comes word that Jason Terry is leaving the Mavericks and heading to the Celtics in Boston, or B-town. I’ll be up there in a couple weeks and check on The Jet’s house-hunting — already have some ideas, in fact. Meantime, I hope his contract is hefty enough to support all those mortgages: the home in Frisco is in lovely Country Club EstatesThe Terrys bought their home there five years ago for $1.1. Word is the Terrys love the  Lewisville ISD schools — Terry and his wife, Johnyika, have four daughters; Jasionna, Jalayah, Jaida and Jasa Azur. His younger sister, Lyric, used to live with them in Dallas. Wonder what they’ll do about schools in B-Town? But the Terrys also have this home in Atlanta, a 6,325-sq-ft whopper at 105 Kingston Manor, listed for $1.89M. It’s really so different from the Frisco house —  7 bedrooms, 10 baths with a water slide for $1.89M, plus huge bar area, home movie theatre, and get this: a full blown barber shop and beauty salon. Well, with four girls, that’s probably a good investment. Terry kept the Atlanta home after he left the Hawks in 2006; I think I read somewhere they really love that home, built it themselves, and just did not want to shed it.  He totally should have put this home on the market in ’06: the Atlanta housing market was a lot stronger then. Now, basically it’s tanking. In fact, looks like Terry will be darn lucky if he breaks even with this sale: He bought the property in 2003 for $1.76M. Ouch, that hurts.

Now when you get to Boston, Jason, remember it’s a different market. Homes are pricier for less. Do not think you’ll get a home with a full blown beauty shop and water slide, but hey, who needs it in New England? You’ve got the Atlantic coast at your disposal!
