Friday Five Hundred: Gastonwood Abode Built in 2010 Begs You to Bring Your Personality

Just staring at the blank walls, the clean floors, and the uncluttered countertops at 7023 Casa Loma is soothing. I love imagining how my things would look in a home, freshly unpacked and organized.

That’s what this house, a 5 bedroom, 4.5 bath contemporary Mediterranean is begging you to do. The dining room is asking you to find the perfect dining set (not too rustic, but not too modern), the kitchen wants you to pick out the perfect stools to belly-up to the gigantic island (something with leather), and the living room is wondering where you’ll position the sofa and love seat set (facing the fireplace, or facing the window).

This East Dallas home is the third we’ve featured in this area this week and is by far the largest and newest. But it’s also the one that lacks the most personality. Whether or not that is a symptom of the fact that there haven’t been any hodge-podge renovations or that this 3,647-square-foot house is incredibly devoid of furniture, well, that’s for you to decide.

Me? I’m going to try to figure out which master suite I like best — the one with the balcony over the front yard or the one with the deck in the rear (probably the deck).

Want to get a closer look? This home is open from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30.
